The SU-100 was a Soviet tank destroyer introduced in December 1944. The chassis and engine were proven on the T-34 tank, but without the need for a turret these vehicles could carry heavier armour and a more powerful gun. The Tank Museum’s SU-100 was built in Czechoslovakia during the 1950s and sold to Egypt soon after. It was captured by the British during the Suez Operation in November 1956.
